Pissed Off Minnie

'Kay, I was bored so I decided to upload some old dolls I've been working on of some of my Hetalia OCs. This one is a state-tan, Minnesota (since that's my home state x3). Her personality is a lot more developed than some of my other OCs, since I was originally going to write a story starring her, Wisconsin, and the Dakotas. I ditched the story after a bit though, cause the plot and just everything else about it was too Mary Sue-ish. So for now she and the other state-tans are just background characters I like to torture every once in a while ^^

Um, yeah, personality, relationships, etc. should probably be addressed for those of you who are actually interested. Her human name is Angela Lang, and she's physically 20. She considers Wynona and Chula (N. and S. Dakota respectively) her best friends, and she and Wisconsin (Conrad, but she calls him Connie) have a love-hate/friends with benefits relationship (it's not that people from either state are bad, but the Vikings/Packers rivalry can get pretty heated, so there's some tension there). She doesn't really interact with any of the actual nations besides America, Canada, and occasionally France, Prussia and England. She's closer to her "brothers and sisters", the other states.

The first settlers of Minnesota ground were the French, and part of the Louisiana Purchase included the southern part of MN, so Angela feels more kin towards her "Uncle Mattie" than she does towards her "Papa". After the French the most people we had settling here were Scandinavians (mostly the Norwegians and Swedes) and the Germans, so she doesn't really talk much and she's a bit on the stoic side. However that little bit of Norwegian in her does strange things; mainly making her able to control traffic cones (it's a saying here: "Minnesota has two seasons; winter and construction") and if she gets pissed off enough the air temperature around her starts dropping (this happens with most of the Northern states, but especially her and Alaska). She doesn't really see France that often, and when she does she calls him "Grand-pere" to mess with him a bit (France doesn't like being called old x3). Prussia hangs out with Canada a lot and flirts w/him even more, which kind of tends to piss Angela off. She's close to Matthew (both physically and emotionally) and everyone's heard Gilbert brag about his "five meters" and how "awesome" he is, so she's just looking out for him, although threatening to beat Prussia up with a hockey stick whenever she sees him probably isn't the best way to go about doing this. England... well, most of the states have a sort of love-hate thing going there, because the UST between him and America is painfully obvious, yet neither of them will do anything and when the two of them are in a room together it gets stifling pretty quickly. That said, Angela falls into the category of "wishing they would just kiss already" so she's a little short with England. It's nothing she has against him personally, it's just annoying that neither of them will make a move.

She isn't a very open person but she often makes fun of others when they say "it's too cold" or "it's too hot" (cause here in MN it's like Mother Nature likes to get drunk or something, that's how crazy our weather is). She loves watching and playing hockey and can get pretty passionate about it, to the point where she gets involved in brawls both on and off the ice. Also, with the recent influx of Hmong immigrants, she's taken a liking to anime and sushi. She likes to generally play around with her hair and wears it up, down and in all sorts of different hairstyles. She's a very health-conscious person and is constantly plying other people (especially Alfred) with carrots, celery, and other vegetables. The reason for that is because Minnesota has the Mayo Clinic, which has pretty much the best health care around, and Minnesotan women also have the longest life expectancy with an average of 79 years (although Angela does have a slightly unhealthy craving for cheese curds sometimes xD).

Edit: I've been noticing that a lot of people make the states have Alfred's last name (Jones) and I would like to put forth why I don't use it. For one thing, my states aren't his biological kids. Secondly, nations supposedly appear where civilizations grow and stuff. It's my headcanon that my state OCs are personifications of the land after the Europeans settlers' population there grew. So some of the states are older than Al while a lot of them are younger than him, and not all of them get along with him. Sure, some of them will call him "Dad" or some other parental tag, but usually sort of mockingly or to appease him because Alfred really likes kids and he thinks of the states sort of like they're his. It's pretty complicated, since it really depends on the history each state has with him. Bottom line, the states personify the settlers in the area when they grew enough, and as the US gained more territory and expanded, the states grew with them and eventually became who/what they are today.
